Raphaela joined our team in October 2019. She is originally from Northern Germany but has spent the last few years in Belgium where she graduated from Ghent University in 2019.
During her study she enjoyed various internships ranging from large animal work in France, lambing in the Netherlands and Orkney, wildlife rehabilitation in the Ecuadorian/Peruvian Amazon rainforest to small animal emergency care and cardiology in Belgium.
During her travels and work on Scotland Mainland and Orkney she admired the country as a possible future 'home away from home'.
Now she enjoys the wide variety of her work in the Lochaber area. She is specifically excited to expand her knowledge in the field of small animal cardiology. Also, she is looking forward to getting to know the area during the large animal work and finding her way around without getting lost anymore!
She loves spending her free time hiking and biking in the outdoors and is excited to show her new home to visiting family and friends.
The most recent addition to her household is Mia the Spocker cross puppy! The two of them plan to have many adventures together exploring the Scottish Highlands by paddle board.
