Mairi grew up in Edinburgh where she also went to Edinburgh University graduating in 1999. After a spell in mixed practice in Blairgowrie she moved to Canada to live on Cape Breton Island. After eleven years of veterinary practice and many fiddle tunes later she moved back to Fort William with her husband. At work she enjoys the variety and practical side of mixed practice especially surgery and getting out and about on the farms. In her time off you might find her exploring the little trodden paths of Lochaber on her mountain bike with her beagle and border collie (sometimes her husband if there isn't too much bog), or playing her fiddle in one of the local pubs, or perhaps in her craft room dyeing/felting/sewing/weaving - basically anything woolly sheep related.
